  4. NOTE: This appliaction is Freeware. This means that I retain copyright of the
  5.       application at all times. However, you may distribute the application
  6.       free of charge so long as:

  8.        a) the application is not changed in any way
  9.        b) you do not sell this program for profit
  10.        c) the application is distributed in its original state

  12. Good, got rid of that!

  14.  This module was born out of complete and utter fustration with my IDEFiler 
  15. provided with my Watford Internal 30Mb IDE card for my A3000. It works... but
  16. it is not Risc OS 3 friendly at all - no nice free window, and totally
  17. unprioritised (it popped up on the icon bar AFTER the adfs::0 icon).
  18.  So I'm afraid the list of requirements for this module is as follows:

  20.  • Needs an IDE (not Acorn) drive
  21.  • Needs RISC OS 3.00 at least
  22.  • Needs Watford Electronics IDEFS module (included in IDE podule) 2.1 at
  23.    least
  24.  • Optional requirement: Computer Concepts CFS filing system  
  25.    
  26.  It may work on other suppliers IDE drives but I will not bet on it.

  28.  The module should be loaded before entering the desktop - i.e. before a
  29. deskboot file is run. I put an RMLoad command in a !boot file which then runs
  30. my deskboot file.
  31.  The module kills the original filer (it is of the same name or should be)
  32. and installs itself on the far left of the icon bar when the desktop is
  33. started.
  34.  Clicking on the icon with the select button will open the root directory of
  35. the drive. Clicking with adjust will open the compressed root directory if
  36. CFS is activated.
  37.  The menu has 4 options: Name drive is the same as any other filer. Dismount
  38. is again the same as usual. Compact just issues a 'IDEFS:Compact' command.
  39. Free displays the standard Risc OS 3 freespace window.
  40.  Pressing TAB in any filer windows of the drive will close that window and
  41. open the compressed windows or vice versa.
  42.  And that is it!
  43.  
  44. Limitations: Will currently only cope with one drive
  45.               Opens IDEFS::4.$ rather than IDEFS::DriveName.$
  46.               
  47. Bugs: If you select free off the menu after having dismounted the drive, the
  48.       machine hangs. I don't think it is due to my code but I am willing to
  49.       be corrected!

  51. Things to do: Sort out the limitations!
  52.               Write some event code to detect the TAB key press, rather than
  53.               using a window off screen as a hot-keys window
  54.
